ABOUT US
The Mutt Movement is an all-volunteer, non-profit local dog rescue organization based in the Los Angeles area. We are committed to finding permanent and happy forever homes for unwanted and homeless pets in our community. Our organization does not have a shelter. We operate through the generosity of contributions and volunteers who provide much needed foster care for animals while they await placement. Dogs come to us as strays, owner turn-ins and from Los Angeles area shelters. Often they have been abused, abandoned or terribly neglected. We get dogs of all sizes and ages, purebreds and mixes alike - because they are all special mutts to us. You can read about more of our memorable rescues on our Happy Tails Page!

OUR MISSION
We believe all that is good and deserving in animals. We shall plead for their lives, campaign for their safety and uphold their right to a good and loving life. We shall seek out the injured and the maimed, the unloved, and the abandoned and tend to them. We shall not forget their place in the hierarchy of life, nor that we walk in each other's paths. We shall bear witness to the wonder they bring into our lives and to the beauty they bestow upon our souls. We shall renew their spirits when they are waning, bind their wounds when they bleed, cradle them when they whimper, and comfort them when they mourn. We shall search for their forever home and love them always. We will cry to say goodbye and rejoice that someone has found our special friend to love forever and be loved back unquestionably. From the creatures of the earth we learn the fruits of compassion and undying love, and in their company we are indeed blessed.
